Garnaches

🧀
Photo coming soon

They're made deliberately small and cheap — locals joke you can eat four of them without even noticing.

Garnaches are small corn tortillas fried until crisp, then topped with refried beans, grated hard cheese, chopped onion, and a splash of habanero-lime vinegar. They're sold by the plate at markets and roadside stalls across Belize.

Why it's made this way: As one of the cheapest street snacks in Belize, garnaches became a go-to option at markets where vendors needed something quick, crunchy, and inexpensive enough to sell several at once.
