This one county alone grows roughly 80% of all the jasmine used in Chinese tea, and 60% of the world's supply.
Hengxian jasmine tea is a green tea scented over multiple nights with fresh jasmine blossoms grown in the fields surrounding Hengzhou, Guangxi. Vendors and teahouses across the region sell it by the cup or by the jar, its floral aroma unmistakable from a few feet away.
Why it's made this way: Guangxi's warm, humid climate makes it one of the only places in China where jasmine grows abundantly enough to scent tea at this scale.
