It's brewed in Xinghuacun, or 'Apricot Blossom Village' — a name so poetic that Tang dynasty poets wrote about drinking there over a thousand years ago.

Fenjiu is a light, fragrant baijiu distilled in Xinghuacun, Fenyang, using sorghum and a barley-pea qu starter, produced in the same village for over a millennium. It's poured at street banquets and noodle-shop tables across Shanxi, prized for being smoother and lighter than heavier regional spirits.

Why it's made this way: As one of China's original 'Four Famous Spirits,' Fenjiu's deep roots in Xinghuacun make it inseparable from Shanxi's identity.
