It's named after the traditional red-sailed wooden cargo boats that once ferried turf, livestock — and beer — across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands, and the brewery itself coined the term 'Irish Pale Ale.'
Galway Hooker is a golden, citrusy, hop-forward pale ale that helped define the modern Irish craft-beer style. It's a common sight on tap across Galway's pubs, poured alongside the city's famous trad-music sessions.
Why it's made this way: Brewed in County Galway, it's Connacht's oldest craft brewery and takes its name and identity directly from the region's iconic sailing boats.
