Galway Hooker Irish Pale Ale

Galway hookers, with their dark red-brown sails, once carried turf across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands and the Clare coast, where fuel was scarce.
Galway Hooker is a golden, citrusy, hop-forward pale ale and one of the early beers of Ireland's modern craft-beer scene. It's a common sight on tap across Galway's pubs, poured alongside the city's famous trad-music sessions.
Why it's made this way: Founded in 2006 and brewed near Galway city, it takes its name and identity from the Galway hooker, the region's traditional sailing boat.
