It's poured in Peshawar's centuries-old Qissa Khwani Bazaar — literally the 'Bazaar of Storytellers' — where traveling merchants once swapped tales over exactly this cup.

Green tea leaves are simmered with crushed green cardamom and usually sweetened with sugar, then strained into small cups without milk. Peshawar's chaikhanas (tea houses), especially around Qissa Khwani Bazaar, keep it brewing all day for a steady stream of customers.

Why it's made this way: Green tea reached the region along old trade routes from Central Asia, and Peshawar developed its own cardamom-scented style, served in tea houses that have anchored the city's bazaars for generations.
