A single potato is spiral-cut into one unbroken ribbon, then skewered end to end on a long stick and stretched out so it deep-fries into one continuous, twisting chip.

A whole potato is spiral-cut on a hand-cranked corer into one long ribbon, threaded onto a skewer, and deep-fried until golden, then dusted with a topping of choice — cheese powder, honey butter, or plain salt — often with a mini sausage skewered at the tip. Myeongdong's street carts sell them by the dozens to the shopping district's foot traffic.

Why it's made this way: The format spread through Seoul's Myeongdong shopping district in the 2010s as a made-for-photos street snack, and the visual spectacle of its twisting fried spiral turned it into one of the neighborhood's most recognized street-food symbols for visitors.
