Photo coming soon

One Pamplona bar keeps a digital counter of the egg fritos it sells; it passed two million in early 2026.

A piece of hard-boiled egg wrapped in thick béchamel, breaded and deep-fried into a ball, eaten standing at the counter in Pamplona's old town.

Why it's made this way: Fritos, fried béchamel snacks around a main ingredient, are one of the pintxo types Pamplona's tourist office names as typical of the city; the egg version was created in a Pamplona bar in 1963.
