Bass's red triangle logo was registered as the very first trademark under British law on 1 January 1876 — literally trademark number one.
Bass Pale Ale is a well-hopped English pale ale from a brewery founded in 1777, whose beers were exported as far as Russia, India and North America. Its crisp character owes much to the naturally gypsum-rich well water of its hometown, a mineral profile brewers worldwide still try to replicate.
Why it's made this way: Brewed in Burton upon Trent, once known as the brewing capital of the world, it defined the Midlands' identity as England's beer-making heartland.
