Some of Gaiman's Welsh tea houses have been run by the same founding families for generations, still serving tea in china passed down from their 19th-century ancestors.
A full afternoon tea spread of black tea, scones, jams, and multiple cakes, served at long communal tables in Welsh tea houses across Gaiman and Trevelin. Visitors typically book ahead, as portions are large and shared family-style.
Why it's made this way: Welsh immigration to Chubut in the 1860s created one of the world's most isolated living Welsh cultural enclaves, preserving this full tea tradition in a way it isn't anywhere else in Latin America.
