It skips refined sugar entirely — all the sweetness comes from date molasses the fritters are dunked into straight after frying, while still hot enough to soak it up whole.

A simple flour batter is deep-fried into small, dense fritters, then dunked immediately into warm molasses so the syrup soaks all the way through. Sylheti households and sweet shops make it especially around Eid, naming ceremonies, and weddings, selling it warm by the piece.

Why it's made this way: It's counted among the specific sweets tied to Sylhet Division's Eid spread, part of a local dessert lineup that stays distinct from what's served elsewhere in Bangladesh.
