Belikin

For most Belizeans, saying 'a beer' and saying 'a Belikin' means the exact same thing — one brewery has supplied nearly the entire domestic market since 1969.

Belikin is a pale lager brewed by the Belize Brewing Company since 1969, labeled with an image of the Altun Ha Maya temple and sold everywhere from beachfront bars to street food stands across the country. Its slogan, 'Onli Eena Belize' (Creole for 'only in Belize'), leans directly into its status as the country's default beer.

Why it's made this way: As a small market long supplied by a single brewery, Belize became one of the rare countries where one beer brand effectively defines the category itself.
