Hudut is served with the mashed plantain still warm in the same bowl as the broth, meant to be torn off by hand and dipped rather than eaten with a spoon.
Fish is simmered in a spiced coconut milk broth and served alongside hudut, mashed boiled plantain and cassava pounded smooth. Garifuna cooks in Dangriga sell it from home kitchens and small eateries along the seafront.
