In season, Manaus vendors sell bags of hot boiled pupunha at traffic lights, car to car.
Peach-palm fruits boiled, peeled and eaten warm with a cup of hot black coffee, sold at 'café regional' stalls on street corners, at markets and by vendors at traffic lights.
Why it's made this way: Pupunha is a staple of the café regional, the Amazonian street breakfast and afternoon snack of Manaus alongside tapioca, fried banana and x-caboquinho.
