Carne de Onça (Jaguar Meat)

There is no jaguar in it: the name is said to come from the strong 'jaguar breath' the raw onion and garlic leave behind.

Seasoned raw ground beef with onion, chives and olive oil, spread on a slice of rye bread and eaten as a bar snack with cold beer in Curitiba's botecos.

Why it's made this way: A Curitiba creation built on rye bread and raw seasoned beef; the city named it intangible heritage in 2016 and it received a geographical indication in 2025.
