Locals say the dish earned the nickname 'Bible' because everything — cocoyam, fish, greens, oil, spice — goes into one single leaf-wrapped 'book,' cooked together in one pot.

Grated cocoyam is mixed with smoked fish, palm oil, leafy greens and spices, then wrapped tightly in banana leaves and steamed until firm, like a dense savory pudding. It's a Bakweri specialty sold hot from roadside pots in Buea and Limbe.

Why it's made this way: As a Bakweri dish from the Southwest, kwacoco bible reflects the region's cocoyam-heavy farming and its love of one-pot, leaf-wrapped street foods.
