Je Zap Gai Min (Macau Coconut Chicken Noodles)

Photo coming soon

It is a Burmese dish, brought by ethnic Chinese from Burma who settled around Macau's Three Lamps (Sam Chan Tang) district from the 1960s.

Noodles or rice vermicelli in a rich coconut-milk chicken broth, sometimes curried, served with chicken, fried dough pieces, onion and a squeeze of lemon.

Why it's made this way: Several small neighbourhood cafés around the Three Lamps roundabout (Rotunda de Carlos da Maia) serve it, some for over 40 years; it is the district's signature dish.
