The flatbread sheets (mlinci) are baked hard first, then brought back to life by soaking in the turkey's own roasting juices.
Roast turkey is served over mlinci — thin baked dough sheets softened with hot water or pan drippings until tender. It's a holiday classic that Zagreb's famous Advent Christmas market sells in warm portions from wooden stalls through December.
Why it's made this way: Zagreb's Advent market was voted Europe's best Christmas market by European Best Destinations three years running, and turkey with mlinci, a northern Croatian holiday classic, is one of the hot dishes sold at its stalls.
