The five diagonal cuts on top stand for the gates to the five districts of Perugia's old town.
A ring-shaped sweet bread with candied citron, raisins and aniseed, handed out in slices on Corso Vannucci during the feast and sold by bakeries all year.
Why it's made this way: It is made for the feast of San Costanzo, a patron of Perugia, on 29 January, when the Fiera Grande fair fills Borgo XX Giugno.
