Brennevinsgrova Fjord Akevitt

This akevitt is distilled and matured in Sykkylven, a small fjordside municipality far better known for furniture-making — locals have long called the area 'the furniture village,' making its craft akevitt an unexpected second export.

Fjord Akevitt is a small-batch Norwegian akevitt flavored with caraway, dill, fresh herbs and citrus, giving it a balanced, mild finish compared to more peppery styles. Some expressions are further aged in oak casks that previously held Madeira wine.

Why it's made this way: Møre og Romsdal's dramatic fjord and mountain landscape is home to Brennevinsgrova's distillery in Sykkylven, part of a wave of small regional Norwegian akevitt producers reviving local distilling traditions outside the big historic brands.
