Kebabpizza

Surveys have repeatedly named kebab-topped pizza one of Norway's most-ordered takeaway dishes — an immigrant-born fusion food that now outsells plenty of 'traditional' Norwegian dishes.

A pizza base is loaded with shredded kebab meat, garlic sauce, and vegetables, then baked and drizzled with a spicy chili or garlic sauce. It's a staple of Oslo's late-night pizzerias and kebab shops, especially around Grønland and Grünerløkka.

Why it's made this way: The dish grew out of Oslo's Middle Eastern and Turkish immigrant communities in the late 20th century, blending kebab-shop ingredients with the format of pizza and becoming a genuinely local invention.
