The dish is shared with Sweden, where it is often topped after baking with pepperoncini and shredded lettuce, turning a kebab plate into a pizza.

A pizza base is loaded with shredded kebab meat, garlic sauce, and vegetables, then baked and drizzled with a spicy chili or garlic sauce. It's a staple of Oslo's late-night pizzerias and kebab shops, especially around Grønland and Grünerløkka.

Why it's made this way: Kebab pizza spread across Scandinavia in the late 20th century through pizzerias run by Turkish and Middle Eastern immigrants; Sweden usually claims it, but it is a fixture of Oslo's kebab and pizza shops.
