At Bazar Różyckiego in Warsaw's Praga district, vendors famously sold pyzy and hot tripe soup from jars and pots, calling out 'Pyzy, flaki gorące!' to shoppers.
Big, pillowy potato dumplings, usually stuffed with minced pork, boiled until tender and served with melted butter or crackling — a heavier, more filling cousin of the pierogi, sold from bar counters and market stalls rather than restaurant plates.
Why it's made this way: They are a Warsaw working-class staple, long sold cheaply by street and market vendors, especially in the Praga district across the Vistula.
