Timișoara's brewery dates to 1718 — set up on the orders of Eugene of Savoy, the general who had just driven the Ottomans out, making it the first brewery on present-day Romanian soil.
Timișoreana is a golden, easy-drinking pale lager brewed in Timișoara using a recipe rooted in the Habsburg-era brewhouse founded there in the 18th century. It's smooth and moderately hopped, in the Central European lager style rather than the fruit-brandy tradition found elsewhere in Romania.
