Plachie de Peşte

🍲
Photo coming soon

It's cooked entirely in its own vegetable juices — no water added, just tomatoes, peppers, and onion slow-stewed with the fish.

Carp or other river fish is layered with tomatoes, bell peppers, and onions and baked or simmered until the vegetables collapse into a thick sauce. It's sold by the portion at riverside stalls and Danube Delta markets.

Why it's made this way: The dish reflects Dobrogea's dual Danube-and-Black-Sea larder, using the same tomato-forward vegetable base found across the region's fish cookery.
