Solomon Breweries only opened in 1993, so until then every beer drunk in the islands had to be imported.

SolBrew is a pale lager brewed by Solomon Breweries in Honiara, sold alongside the brewery's SB Lager. It's the standard pour at bars, market-side kiosks, and gatherings across the islands.

Why it's made this way: As the first beer ever brewed in the Solomon Islands, SolBrew carries genuine local-pride status even though the brewery is now part of Heineken.
