Rivera is one of the few places in Uruguay where açaí bowls are a common kiosk item, a direct spillover from Brazil's massive açaí culture just one street away.
Frozen, blended açaí pulp is topped with granola, banana, and condensed milk, scooped into cups at kiosks across Rivera. It's sold as a cold snack year-round, unusually common for a Uruguayan town.
