The brewery takes its name from a 1780s inn called 'Zum Mohren,' and its on-site museum in Dornbirn now displays around 10,000 pieces of brewing history, from antique coasters to a rebuilt inn façade.
Mohrenbräu is Vorarlberg's flagship beer, a smooth Austrian-style lager brewed in Dornbirn with the classic bittersweet balance of the region's Alpine brewing tradition. It's the beer poured by default across Vorarlberg's mountain inns and Bregenzerwald taverns.
Why it's made this way: Family-owned since 1834 and Vorarlberg's oldest brewery, it holds close to half the local beer market — a rare degree of regional dominance in Austria.
