The brewery takes its name from its founder, Josef Mohr, and its logo of a Black man's head has been the subject of repeated public debates about racism.
Mohrenbräu is Vorarlberg's flagship beer, a smooth Austrian-style lager brewed in Dornbirn with the classic bittersweet balance of the region's Alpine brewing tradition. It's the beer poured by default across Vorarlberg's mountain inns and Bregenzerwald taverns.
Why it's made this way: Founded in Dornbirn in 1763 and owned by the Huber family since 1834, it is Vorarlberg's best-known brewery and holds a large share of the local beer market.
