European blenders once used it as the backbone of English Breakfast tea, decades before most drinkers had ever heard of Anhui.

Qimen, known internationally as Keemun, is a smooth black tea grown in the mountains of southern Anhui, brewed strong and dark at teahouses and roadside stalls across the province. Its signature aroma, often compared to orchids or fruit, has made it one of China's most exported black teas.

Why it's made this way: Qimen put Anhui tea on the global map long before most Chinese regional teas were known abroad.
