Wine Festival · Young Fermenting Wine

Burčák

It's still actively fermenting when you drink it — meaning the cloudy, sweetish glass in your hand can keep fizzing and getting stronger as you finish it.

Freshly pressed grape juice caught mid-fermentation, cloudy and lightly sparkling with a mild alcohol kick, sold from roadside stands, market squares, and wine-cellar doorways across South Moravia every autumn.

Why it's made this way: The name and sale window are protected under Czech and EU rules — it can legally be sold only between August and November, timed to the grape harvest — which is exactly what turns it into a genuine seasonal street-food event rather than a year-round product.
