Locals treat these dense little biscuits as the unofficial requirement for balancing out a glass of young burčák — sold at the same stalls, more or less as a pair.

Small, dense savory biscuits made from a lard-and-pork-crackling dough, baked until crisp on the outside and soft within, sold at Moravian wine festivals and market stalls alongside burčák and wine tastings.

Why it's made this way: It's a wine-region snack built to be sturdy and salty enough to hold its own next to a glass of new wine, drawing on South Moravia's tradition of pig-slaughter cracklings and lard-based baking.
