Spa Treat · Rolled Wafer Tube

Karlovarské Trubičky

They're rolled by hand around a metal cone while still hot and pliable, seconds after coming off the iron, or the wafer sets too fast to shape.

Crisp, rolled wafer tubes, sometimes filled with whipped cream, sold alongside the flat spa wafers from the same walk-up stalls around Karlovy Vary's colonnades.

Why it's made this way: It's a close cousin of the flat spa wafer, born from the same spa-town baking tradition, just shaped differently to give visitors another handheld treat to enjoy strolling between the mineral springs.
