Zubr shares its name and bison emblem with the town of Přerov itself — the beer and the city have carried the same heraldic crest since the brewery's founding in 1872.
Zubr is a Czech lager brewed in Přerov, on the Haná plain of the Olomouc region, known for balanced malt sweetness and clean, moderate hop bitterness typical of Moravian pale beers. It's one of Moravia's most widely recognized everyday brands.
Why it's made this way: Přerov's brewing rights date to the Middle Ages, and Zubr grew from a 19th-century local brewery into the signature beer of the Haná region around Olomouc, carrying the area's own heraldry on every bottle.
