Punugulu

Punugulu โ€” street food from Andhra Pradesh, India

They are made from the same fermented rice-and-urad batter used for idli and dosa.

Small deep-fried balls of idli-dosa batter, crisp outside and soft inside, sold by street vendors with peanut or coconut chutney.

Why it's made this way: They are a common street snack across coastal (Delta) Andhra, and also in Hyderabad.
