The name comes from kulhad, a clay cup: here the cup is the food itself, a scooped-out potato, tomato, cucumber or piece of fruit.
Fruits and vegetables such as potato, tomato, cucumber and orange hollowed into little cups, filled with spices, black salt, lime juice, boiled chickpeas and pomegranate seeds, and sold from a small chaat counter in Chawri Bazar.
Why it's made this way: It is a chaat of Old Delhi, associated with the lanes of Chawri Bazar near Chandni Chowk and rarely found elsewhere.
