Order it 'patal' and you get a thin, runny curry; 'sukhi' is the dry version, and many Goans eat both side by side.

Pão bread with a potato-and-dried-pea curry, often with a cup of tea, served at Goan cafés, tea stalls and snack counters for breakfast.

Why it's made this way: It is Goa's everyday breakfast, quite different from Mumbai's pav bhaji: the curry is thinner and the bread is Goan pão.
