It is barely known outside Mumbai, and street vendors traditionally toast it by holding it over a flame with a chimta (tongs).
White bread with butter, green chutney, boiled potato, beetroot, cucumber, tomato, onion and chaat masala, cut into pieces and served on a paper plate with ketchup.
Why it's made this way: It is a Mumbai street invention, probably from around the 1960s, that mixes a British-style sandwich with Indian fillings.
