In 2018 El Güero Canelo, a Tucson Sonoran-dog business, won a James Beard Foundation America's Classics award.
A bacon-wrapped hot dog in a soft bolillo roll, loaded with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, mustard, mayonnaise and jalapeño salsa, sold from carts and stands.
Why it's made this way: It came north from Hermosillo, Sonora, and street-cart 'dogueros' sell it at hundreds of spots in Tucson and Phoenix.
