Cuban Sandwich

In 2012 Tampa City Council voted the 'Historic Tampa Cuban Sandwich' the city's official signature sandwich, complete with Genoa salami.
Cuban bread layered with ham, mojo-marinated roast pork, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard, then pressed flat and hot; sold from bakery and café counters.
Why it's made this way: It grew out of the Cuban, Spanish and Italian cigar-worker community of Tampa's Ybor City, which explains the Italian salami in the Tampa version; Miami's Cuban exiles made it a staple there too.
