St. Paul's Hmongtown Marketplace, a six-acre market with hundreds of stalls, is known for Hmong sausage served with purple sticky rice.
A thick, coarse pork sausage seasoned with lemongrass, chili, ginger and kaffir lime, grilled and eaten with sticky rice and hot sauce at market food courts and fair stands.
Why it's made this way: The Twin Cities have one of the largest Hmong communities in the US, and Hmong sausage is now sold at St. Paul's markets, the State Fair (since 2022) and the Twins' ballpark (since 2023).
